Pharmacological Action
Conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) refers to a group of conjugated dienoic isomers of linoleic acid. Different isomers seem to have different physiological effects. Researchers believe that CLA helps with weight loss by promoting apoptosis in adipose tissue. Animal studies suggest that CLA may be beneficial to the immune system by increased IgG, IgM, and IgA production in the spleen cells.
