Iodine is an element that is required by humans for the synthesis of thyroid hormone. Guggulipid is an extract of the gum resin of the mukul myrrh (Commiphora mukul) tree, which is native to India. Guggulipid has thyroid-stimulating activity and also seems to increase T3 synthesis by increasing conversion of T4 to T3. Guggulipid is also beneficial in lowering cholesterol and has anti-inflammatory effects. Tyrosine is a non-essential amino acid that the body synthesizes from phenylalanine. Tyrosine is a precursor of thyroxine (T4) thyroid hormone and is essential for thyroid hormone production.
